Cathy Lange
Cathy Lange is President of BusinessWorks of America, Inc.
Founded in 1995, BusinessWorks provides a range of consulting
and coaching services for executives and leaders in emerging
and Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and associations.
The company's mission is to facilitate the growth of executives,
managers, and their teams, by helping them optimize their
strengths, overcome barriers and stay focused on achieving
results. The company brings over 25 years of corporate experience
in leading, managing and growing successful businesses, organizations,
management teams and executives. Clients of BusinessWorks
since its inception have included F500 corporations such as
Comerica Inc., local federal agencies including, NIST, local
non-profits including the Morino Institute and the Potomac
KnowledgeWay, and emerging companies such as Magicsoft and
Symbolic Systems.
Prior to forming BusinessWorks, Cathy spent 20 years in the
high technology industry in which she had a wide range of
responsibilities in sales, marketing, technical support and
consulting services for Digital Equipment Corporation and
Burroughs Corporation (now Unisys). She was responsible for
building and growing organizations nationally and across industry
sectors. She managed a variety of industry, application and
regionally based consulting and systems integration groups
with a range of technical, application sales and management
consulting skills. She was responsible for P&L, expense and
sales budgets, human resource management, and customer relations.
Prior to that she implemented multi state sales support strategy
for deployment of professional, technical resources in support
of $1 billion in commercial and federal sales. Further, she
managed a range of specialized services including three state
of the art client technology centers in major metropolitan
areas.
Cathy serves on a number of business, technology and non-profit
Boards. She was a founding member of the Washington DC Tech
Council and current Board member; she is President of the
Angels Network, a charity focused on women helping others,
leader of the Women's Executive Group and Board member of
the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, Co-Chair of the Business
Industry Advisory Board for Fairfax Public Schools, member
of the Potomac Officers Club and the Northern Virginia Technology
Council. She is associated with Corporate Coach University
and is a member of the International Coach Federation. She
holds a BA degree from Georgetown University.
