Helping the Homeless

The Angels Network closed out 2008 with a deep sense of gratitude to all of our friends and colleagues, our sponsors and hosts, and to all of you who made our year of giving a successful one. Our three 2008 receptions raised over $40,000 for three non-profit groups that provide transitional housing and services for homeless families. They are Dwelling Place, Shelter House, and N Street Village. Our heartfelt thanks go out to all of you for your contributions to these wonderful charities.

For 2009, I am pleased to announce that we will continue our support for organizations that provide transitional housing services for families. Our 2009 charities are: Dwelling Place, Alternative House.

In addition to introducing the work of these wonderful organizations, Angel receptions provide ample opportunities for networking with professionals from the business community. Along with the food and wine donated by our generous sponsors, there is an auction of three or four unique items, with all funds from the auction going to the charity we honor that evening. Our accomplishments this year would not have been possible without your generous support and the continuing dedication and hard work of our volunteer Board.
