Kathryn Woodward

Kathy is currently serving as Vice-President for the Angel Network. She is also a founding member of this organization and has served as Secretary for two years. Kathy is a native of Northern Virginia, having graduated from Marshall High School in Falls Church and from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. She has held several senior management positions in the high-tech industry, with her most recent as the Senior Director of Global Consulting Services for Aspect Corporation, a contact center software company. Prior to that, she held the position of Vice-President of Professional Services and Vice-President of Strategic Alliances for Sideware Corporation, an Internet software development company based in Reston, VA.

Kathy has been in the software industry for the past 20 years, in various roles from sales to management and consultative services and has worked with companies in many different industries, such as telecomm, financial, health, government, education and manufacturing. She spent her early years with Digital Equipment Corporation, selling hardware and software solutions and spent 5 years heading up the Eastern Region for a privately held software consulting services company. She enjoys the high-tech industry because of the constant demand to stay abreast of the current trends and practices and because it has helped her stay ahead of the learning curve for her three sons as they have grown up in the "internet world".

She spends most of her week-ends traveling to different football, baseball, basketball and soccer games to cheer on her three sons. Her son, Zachary, is a 24 year-old Furman University graduate and is working in the high-tech industry. Her son, Chase, is a 16-year-old junior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology and her youngest son, Drew, is a middle school student at Thoreau Intermediate.

Kathy has always been interested in the mentorship of young adults to help them gain "life skills" for the working world, as well as young children in need. She finds the goals of The Angel Network to match hers, and the participants to be a breath of fresh air.
